Just wanted to encourage everyone to do what they can on Giving Tuesday to make the world a little bit better. I would like to be able to donate my time, but I find that with my work schedule it doesn't work out very often. So today I went to Big Brothers, Big Sisters and donated $100. I know not everyone can do that but even $5 can help. Or maybe there's something in your house you could donate - old clothing, or unused toys, or furniture. Big Brothers, Big Sisters operates a store called Jewel that sells gently used women's clothing and accessories.
I was listening to a documentary on the weekend on the homeless and how there biggest need is socks. The number of homeless individuals who become sick and injured because they have difficulty finding socks to keep their feet warm and dry is very high and socks are the number one item that shelters and other agencies go through.
