Gary's iconic video "Malevolent Landscape" (1992) was recently removed from youtube (the whole channel went down). I had it downloaded on my laptop, so reuploaded it here:
This is so great! The guy will turn 65 in less than two months, and that lunge he went into so casually is just a beautiful now as it was decades ago
And I know that the painted circle is a lot wider than a blade edge, but he followed much of the circle while not looking down and while talking at the same time.
ETA: I was watching the videos in no particular order, but watching the Axel mistake video, I kept thinking “Jason Brown,” at least the shape that his 3A has been lately. Then in the NHK video — he was there live for the Women’s and Men’s SP — he sat with Richaud for the Men’s — he called out some those very flaws in Brown’s 3A.
