what are common FS fans superstitions and for skaters ?

I think from viewer point of view. I have finally come to accept that there is such as damned or cursed names
Polina, Daria, Diana

I repeat there will never be a successful skater named Polina in FS.
Also Daria, Diana are cursed names ?

#PolinaCurse

#PolinaTsurskaya
#PolinaEdmunds
#PolinaShelepen
#PolinaAgafonova
#PolinaKorobeynikova

what else from on the ice ?

I'm not sure this counts, but...

There was a great site (skatemusiclist.com) whose creators found that, of all the individuals and teams they could find who had skated to Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, not a single one had won an Olympic-eligible competition of note with it. The last high-ranked skater I can think of who used it was Rachael Flatt in the 2010-11 season. Perhaps someone has managed to win a gold medal skating to it since then?

I remember hearing that if ever Emanuel Sandhu skated to the best of his abilities at Worlds or the Olympics, the world would come to an end. Or was that Jeremy Abbott?

Agreed about Polina. THE unluckiest name in figure skating.

Diana and Daria are less common.

I think Julia is also an unlucky name, but not as much as Polina. Some success early on, but never realized the potential

Julia Lipnitskaya
Julia Obertas- in pairs skating - coached by Tamara-did not live up to the hype
Julia Sebasteyen (sp?)
Julia Soldatova- singles skater from Russia, who moved to another country

Julia Soldatova you mean ?
she skated for Belarus

You are right.

I made the correction to my post. Thank you.

I will need to look up Julia Lautowa- did. She skated for Austria. And was married to Roman Kostomarov for three years.

Didn't there used to be one about wearing a gold costume during an Olympic year?

Well, one positive 'superstition' is that the ladies Olympic champion often wears a shade of blue in one of her costumes (not this year, though).

A negative - don't be a Canadian man at the Olympics. ESPECIALLY if you're the reigning world champion...

I have started wondering if Ksenia may be yet another unlucky name in FS?- not as much as Polina though.

"Green Falls" meaning that if you wear a green costume you will fall, has been around a long time.

I assume this is what Tracy Wilson was referring to.

Didn't Sasha say that TAT told her that she shouldn't have washed her hair on the day of the 2003 worlds long programme because it would bring bad luck? But that might not be directly linked to figure skating...

I heard it was Toller Cranston who said, "green falls"

Trying to think of green costumes-

Tonya Harding wore a green costume when she won her first US nationals.

Shen and Zhao wore green costumes when they skated to Mount Olympus at one of the Olympics - I think 1998.
