I love how she's not ruling out 2030 even if Max and Josee Picard both retire . I wouldn't be surprised if she gets calls from pairs guys in need of a partner.

The level of personal and professional sacrifice makes me thankful she'll get to compete. She opens up slightly in this article, by saying she sacrificed a relationship, though no further detail. It's none of my business, but I had wondered where her (ex?) husband was in all of this. I assumed they were still together because of the continued use of Stellato-Dudek and wondered how they were making it work with moving to a new state and then a new country, becoming a citizen of that country (seemingly alone?), etc.

I watched the two-part documentary "Deanna's Dream", and she speaks just a bit about her relationship ending. It has some great footage of her mom's home in Glenview, IL (including Deanna photos/memorabilia) and some interesting family stories mostly told by Deanna and her mom.

During the Eurosport broadcast before their skate Simon Reed said she fell on her head and I wondered if that was verified, cause from what I read here, it wasn’t said explicitly...

But then Deanna & Maxim were interviewed by Eurosport after the event and Deanna said „I fell on my head“ (followed by „I don’t want do discuss it", so I guess she did fall on her head and I guess it’s the most likely during the backflip if they removed that element.

I get not wanting to talk about it, but half talking about it is a bit strange.

I just hope they can safely skate in the LP if they skate there!

Very interesting, I googled her. I cannot believe how much her and I have in common.

We are both Italian American.

We’re both from the same part of suburban Chicago.

And we were both born at the same hospital, says she was born in Park Ridge, Illinois. Park Ridge only has one hospital – a popular one Lutheran general, so looks like we were born at the same place.

I always been wondering about who her husband was because you never heard about Mr. Dudek and then yeah Google says she sacrificed her relationship. I had wondered because if she’s living in Montreal but her husband is back in Chicago for seven years how they maintained that.

Me too. I was like all of FSU knows they took out the backflip, how Johnny don't know that.

If you watched the Primetime version on NBC, they edited that comment out, so you don't hear it on the Primetime version.

I believe Deanna has confirmed that she fell on her head, but not that it was on the backflip. Like Johnny Weird, the New York Times was unaware she took out the backflip as they dedicated a few paragraphs talking about it in the profile that appeared on Saturday.

Absolutely. My nearly 80-year-old mother fell a few months ago out walking and landed partially on the side of her face. She had a gnarly black eye but said her head felt fine. Natasha Richardson popped into my head and I insisted she go to the ER and get a head scan. They saw her right away due to her age and the huge bruise on her face. Luckily it was clear. You can't mess around when it comes to falling anywhere on your head.
