Trying to get in the joyful Oly mood, watching the Koreans and Swedes’ prelim curling match, and the power went out in the building.

Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

When we went to US curling trials in 2018 and 2022, there were/are 4 fields

They have special shoes - the soles are different for each shoe

The Canadian team, who are also married, played Czechia in the first draw today. Along with the lights going out in the first end, a couple more disruptions occurred in their game. A bug was spotted in the middle of the ice and aware that one of their rocks would likely have to travel right over it, the curler attempted to remove it but ended up squashing it and leaving visible blood and bug pieces on the ice - so the game had to be stopped again for a clean up. Then a little later, a third stoppage occurred when a member of the other team set up one of the starter rocks in the wrong spot. The second teammate then threw the first rock of the end before an official came out to intervene. The starter rock was placed in the correct position, the thrown rock was removed and the team was allowed to replay their first rock. All in all not according to plan, but the Canadian team commented they were prepared for pretty much anything to happen and didn't let it phase them.

Maybe the uniforms didn't get to the event in time for the match and they borrowed some the US Ralph Lauren shirts and improvised?
