Beck Strommer posted this coaching change to Instagram:

At the beginning of the summer I decided to relocate to Southern California for my training. While this decision was difficult in many ways, I was in a very bad head space for the majority of the off season and felt a change in my environment was much needed. I am now training with @jjcassar and the rest of the team at @laeliteice and I am very happy with my decision. I’ve started the season with two strong showings and hope to continue to improve my programs and performances. I am thrilled about my new coaching team + training environment and can’t wait to see what this season brings. Very excited to perform again soon

Did Selevko move to Boston to be with his new girlfriend Emily Chan?

I’d thought Skotnicky was retired. Is he still in Oberstdorf?
Yes, his wife and him live in Oberstdorf. I usually see him at Nebelhorn Trophy in the audience every year, but I also had the impression he and his wife are mainly retired for some years now. Maybe he's mostly doing consulting and there's another/additional coach working with them in Oberstdorf too.
I don't really see him doing a full time coaching job with travelling to competitions

Btw, is there any public information about Grimm & Savitsky having "coaching drama"? i tried to google a bit and found nothing and I'm not active on social media in regards to skating.

Also found nothing while skimming German skating facebook groups (but I always try to avoid those, cause the atmosphere is always so negative and weird :shuffle: , so I might not have looked intensly enough).

There was this on X:
It's apparently from Pirouette Newsletter. They also have already changed their ISU bio.

I found a little bit on another board, but mostly gossip and speculation, so I won't link to it. But it sounded like the conflict may have involved more of his teams than just G/S.

Anyway, I'm anxious for them now. :( Hope they're doing OK.

Leaving this sentence without the actual context here makes speculation. Because that is not how I read the thread at all, it just mention the fact that two other teams coached by the same coach is not on the entries for Nebelhorn Trophy, which is a bit odd since it´s practically home ice, and that it could be a coincidence or not. Most likely it´s a coincidence. It was mentioned that Van Rensburg possible injured herself during test skate. The other team is Reitan/Majorov, they might just not be ready for Nebelhorn or might even do more senior B this season (they need ranking points). There is really nothing connecting the incident with the other teams, so most likely coincidences. But it´s a fact that two teams of Sinicyn who trains in Oberstdorf are not doing Nebelhorn this year, and that there apparently was a conflict between G/S and him.

I heard there was a big fuss with Gomez mother telling Norwegian federation she would have Mia switch federations to Mexico. Part of the reason why coaches from the club that worked with the sister also reshuffled.
Hopefully this means the agreement has been reached and now they can all focus on goals
During the summer Mia and her sister has changed clubs 6 hours away from the old club, from Stavanger to Asker KK. They will train in the same club as Linnea Kilsand and Pernille With ++. I do not know if it´s anything related to this fuss you mention, but it surely made me think of this post and that it might have something to do with all of this. There have been so many changes for them.

I also hope they have reached agreement now and can focus on goals. I do not know if this club change is affecting the coaching with Agnes Z, hopefully she is going with them. From how things have been described it sounded like their journey had just started together. But I havn´t seen Agnes post anything about Mia since she worked with Tom D in April, but they have both been busy with different summer camps. Mia ISU profile isn´t updated yet, but she is entered for Nebelhorn Trophy so at latest things will be clearer by then.

Mia ISU profile isn´t updated yet, but she is entered for Nebelhorn Trophy so at latest things will be clearer by then.

The ISU bio is now updated and it says Mia Risa Gomez is no longer coached by Agnes Z but coached by Hilde Aaby and Berit Steigedal (Same coach as Linnea Kilsand, coached Sondre Oddvoll Bøe, Camilla Gjersem etc.), two coaches at her new club.

The splitting of time between the coaches might suggest it´s temporary until things are figured out? Particular surprised to see Hilde involved, she doesn´t seem to have a lot of experience but she is coaching Ida Vamnes. Also it seems to suggest that Hilde is her main coach since she is listed first.

The bio says that Mia is now a university student, so I will think that is one of the reasons for the club change. Maybe Agnes couldn´t follow to the new club.

Whatever the reason is I hope the new situation works out for Mia. I think we can look forward to new exciting programs in the latin genre. Both Lorenzo Magri and Tom Dickson har choreographed new programs for her, and Angelique Abachkina has polished the programs.

2024 U.S. Junior Men’s silver medalist Taira Shinohara, 18, has relocated to California to start college and posted a tribute to each of his 4 coaches - Denise Myers, Jeremy Allen, Tommy Steenberg, and Kseniya Ponomaryova - adding to my post from the U.S. Men’s news thread:
Excerpt from the end:
Once the summer is over, Shinohara will be packing up and heading across the country to attend college and continue his skating career in Southern California.
"I will be attending the University of California, Irvine, this fall," Shinohara noted before adding, "I will be majoring in mechanical engineering. The STEM field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) is my stronger side. I will be moving in mid-September."
Shinohara announced at the end of his Chicago area coach appreciation post yesterday that Rafael Arutyunyan and Hov Mkrtchian will coach him at Great Park Ice in Irvine, CA: https://www.instagram.com/p/DAhWWMxyMBk/

One of his coaches, Tommy Steenberg, shared this Taira S. montage video two weeks ago: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DACc99rRyU2/
Five amazing years of helping to raise this exceptional athlete and person from a juvenile level competitor to junior national medalist, senior level competitor, and an international athlete!
We wish you the best in college and with your new team in California, Taira!

Kaiya Ruiter’s ISU bio now lists Tracy Wilson and Brian Orser as her coaches (Paige Aistrop who also coaches at the the Cricket club was with her in Astana KAZ for the CS Denis Ten Memorial and was listed with her in Skate Canada’s pre-event press release): http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00107952.htm

ETA: Her National Team profile on Skate Canada’s website still lists Scott Davis and Jeff Langdon (in Calgary) as her coaches.
