Chinese skating news & social media updates pt. 5, 2023 onwards

Wait, something I just noticed, because I was caught up in the entire thing on social media. The header says 2024-25 season. Is this accurate for this season (25-26)? I'm asking honestly because I don't believe I've ever accessed these documents before, so don't know how the headers usually look like.

Or is this the latest one and the header is a mistake?

@Andrea82

ETA: Well the date in the footer says "20 May 2025" so maybe a mistake?

We are still in the 2024-25 season until June 30th.

OTOH, the Sui/Han info desk, which I think is also run by their close fans, posted Wenjing's registration on the list on the Wenjing super talk/fan thread. They've also as of now not said anything about Han Cong being back, nor have they (again, as of now) pulled the Doping pool up either, even though it contains both of them.

Posted now.

Here let me repost it, for convenience:

That guy got into trouble with sexual harassment or something to that effect.
No?

Where are some of you getting this "news"?

When did that go down?
It never "went down". Although, must say, it's a convenient story, when they can't even get Wang and Liu to stop training or using the provincial rinks, and a lot of Chinese fans shamelessly flock to them for photo ops yet will screech excitedly that Sui/Han are back because "Li is suspended due to misconduct and don't ask us for any evidence!".

And misconduct =/= sexual misconduct, even if it did happen.

Or they were there in a coaching capacity just like she was...
Instead of this, just pray they get beaten at the qualifiers, at this point.

If they participate at the CoC selection event, they're 100% getting it, but they can be shut out of the Olympics easily.

ETA: although, mercifully, I don't see such rumours on weibo, so unless it's from a group chat, I'm hoping it's indeed speculation.

I hope that Sui/Han are my favorite as at “new old” FSUers, coming back to 2025/2026. My best of the those from Older dears. (No of the neither news… Keep to recently current from US and France winners in 2024/25.)

Why are Sui/Han coming back anyway? If they were serious they would have started their comeback last season and with all of Sui's injuries in the past i would have thought the last thing she would want to do is put her body through all of this again.

It is Sui who's wanted to comeback for a while.

Han is the one who was injured and wanted to leave, and seemingly hasn't been training for a long time.

As to why they wanted to comeback, well I want an explanation too. Sui said she'd be training for a comeback with Li Ze'en.

And as to why the fed might want them back, there's not much competition in the Pairs field. If all goes well, it'll be easy to land another Olympic medal. I doubt Ze'en would have been very good by next year, but who knows, and who knows if even that might have been enough, and who knows how Han will be doing either.

Anyway, I expected Sui/Han to come back purely out of pressure, with my posts on the matter going back to late 2022 on here. We eventually got there somehow. I just knew it would happen 🤷‍♂️ Not even a challenge to figure it out.

I think in part Jin too just stayed because no one beat him though. Even from last season's scores, it seems his 4CC '24 total score is still the highest Chinese men have been able to post internationally?

Kaitlin Hawayek is coaching in China for Chinese junior ID seminar, and maybe also helping Wang & Liu preparing new programs?
Good to see her getting dragged for this on twitter.

Oh and since I'm pretty sure I recognize Ice Dancie names off twitter lurking here sometimes: the allegations were sourced, thought to be suppressed by their management company, (supposed) help from Jilin police and/or the provincial sports authorities unless I'm forgetting, and when the allegations were scrubbed off initially, they were confirmed by some reliable sources (again, IIRC).

And the expose was retaliatory during the NWG last year because Jilin is a known dirty player, and caused a scandal in short track, a career ending injury to an athlete.

Story's gone. Think it was deleted, not just that it expired.
Stories expire after 24 hours. Her story linked to her IG post - I saw the post not the story when I checked my IG Friday morning.

It does appear that she edited her IG post to remove the pic with Wang & Liu, though.
