Can't Help Falling In Love ... with Hubbell & Donohue (fan thread #2)

I thought the top ten will be in random order among the last two groups of the SD.

Might be. Like I said, I don't have the link, but where ever I found that, I just copied it into my notes and that's what it said.

Extract:
Top 6/5/4 (Singles/Dance/Pairs) in WS draw for the last group.
Next 6/5/4 (Singles/Dance/Pairs in WS draw for the penultimate group
Next 3/2/3 (Singles/Dance/Pairs) in WS draw for the last 3/2/3 spots in the third-to-last group

So if it goes like this, H/D are in the last SD group.

Interesting that the gap in WS from Shibs, C/B, and W/P, is given by H/D choosing to do challenger events.

So impressed by H/D. I was hoping they would make a move in the rankings!

So totally random, but maybe someone here can confirm seeing this somewhere... I swear I recently saw a TBT/FBF post from Madison with her Maia and Madison Chock... but I can't seem to find it... did I imagine that??? Or was it on an instagram story or something?

It was in Madi's Instagram story preserved here.

Looks like Kieffer will be able to go to the Olympics - they're closing in on $7000! :cheer:
Madison posted an update (with some cute childhood/teenhood pics): The donations over the weekend made it possible for Kiefer to buy his plane ticket!
Any future donations will be going towards the hotel stay, and the tickets to watch the events! Thank you, everyone, for your generosity. We are overwhelmed!

Inspired by some discussion in the thread "What will Dance field look like in 2018-19?", what genre would you like to see H/D explore in the next years?

I think they will do a great job with the tango SD, I actually would have liked to see a tango FD from them. They could explore the sharp/staccato tango movements that are a departure from their bluesy/soft style of the past couple of years, but still exploiting the passion/chemistry. I also would really like to see them doing the flamenco FD the danes have this year for the same reasons.
Another departure could be a character-driven/storytelling program, but not the obvious broadway musical or blockbuster movie soundtrack. It would have to be something subtle and well thought.

I know the last time they tried to do a character-driven/storytelling program, it was Tron before they decided to go a bit more abstract for Worlds (which worked so well). I'd like to see them try that again. Madison in her exhibition earlier this season before Nationals was absolutely killing it and I'd love to see her bring that out for competition.

I'd love to see them go abstract again, but I'd also enjoy seeing their take on a classical piece. One of the things that's really drawn me to this team is their versatility, and the fact that they take pride in being versatile. I did see a post suggesting that they've done the love theme enough times (I can't remember the exact wording), but they've actually only had one lovey-dovey FD that I can recall, in the 2016-17 season. But I do agree that I'd like to see them stay away from that.

I would be thrilled if they could have their own "Picasso." :)

Also hoping they bring back the Imagine Dragons exhibition- it was so fun and unique to many of the other show programs!

I would like to see a Tango or Flamenco too. I actually would like to see more modern free dances from them. I would like to see some swing or jazz free dances, using Miles Davis, Lionel Hampton, Duke Ellington.

In the next years, I just want to be surprised :) I hope they remain curious and ambitious.

My more concrete wish for them is to gain access to a larger pool of choreographers. Their collaboration with Marie France, and the artists that Gadbois teams share, have been positive. But I would like to see H/D engage in more exclusive creative situations as well.
