The 2014/2015 season was such a fascinating season in terms of ice dance. It was really a tale two halves in terms of storyline and results. I think people tend to forget how dominant W/P were at the GPF. They beat C/B by 14 points and P/C by 19 points.

In Warsaw Cup Fabbri/Ayer are sixth after the rhythm dance with 62.14. Tes 35.38 .. What is the Tes min for worlds and 4cc? That is really good for their first senior international especially as they have only been a team for a yr and a half. I hope their Free Dance goes well tomorrow.

On doing further :COP:, the four-season gap between Final appearances for Piper & Paul is double the previous record for gaps between dance team appearances at the Final. No previous team has ever gone more than two seasons between appearances, and in a number of those cases it involved teams not competing at all for at least one of those seasons (e.g., Virtue/Moir).

Fd is 93.63 with Tes 52.83 and pcs 40.80

What do Fabbri/Ayers’ FD costumes have to do with the music at all? I tried looking up if the songs were associated with some movie soundtrack because otherwise,
I figured someone here might know?

Congrats Piper & Paul for qualifying for the GP final. Is this a first for them? Someone floated an idea about bringing back Vincent for the Olympic year and I agree!

No no it's never a good thing. I think it looks lazy. Always work on something new and fresh.Look at W/P JSM it wasn't the same IMO.

I have no info on this. It was a new partnership last yr and they were 9th at Junior worlds. Their coach was Julien Lalonde and Mylene Girard who are terrific coaches and have coached the initial basics of some of Gadbois's younger cdn teams. At some point in the off-season Fabbri/Ayer switched to Gadbois as they showed up to the summer skate as part of Gaddbois.
I have seen on P/C's instagram them training in their group. They were not named to the senior Skate Canada team and IMO would not have even been sent to Warsaw (last competition)to get their mins if they had not switched to Gadbois, not that they do not deserve it (they do and should have gone to Autumn Classic)but that Skate Canada never has their ducks in a row when it comes to Seniors. They have been doing much better with the juniors for the last 2 yrs...but then, there are diff. people organizing next gen.

Some questionable judging in Junior dance at the Challenge event IMO.

Also a lot of mismatched teams height-wise.

A lot of enjoyable skates in the jr dance event, even outside of the top 7. Lim/Quan in particular stood out to me, I thought they were just delightful! Too bad about the mistakes in the FD that dropped them to 9th, but that placement should get them to Nationals, right?

Are they a new team? I don't remember seeing them before, but I just noticed that their Addams Family program was filmed by Jordan Cowan a couple of months ago:

... Hannah Lim and Ye Quan have teamed up to skate for Korea (Edit - the post has now been changed to say that they will skate for Canada). And confirmation that the new junior team Verrelli/Lewis is training at Gadbois. She was there last season, as a novice with her old partner.
Verrelli/Lewis are listed as "MD" from Challenge... which means they cannot advance from Challenge, I assume?

ETA:

2019 Novice silver ice dance medalist Kiera Kam (with Mathew Carter on the NextGen team) is listed on IPS as of 11/30.

What does MD mean? Withdrawal or disqualification?

Lim/Ye is a new team and challenge was just their third competition together and Hannah just switched from singles to dance this summer. They were second at Quebec sectionals with combined score of 150.

MD is for medical reason I believe so yes they would be able to advance.... but seeing the number of teams registered I guess not! Are they on the Junior National Team?
