Camden Cheer thread

Booting him off of TTW was the best thing that ever happened to Camden! Look at how he's begun skating more consistently since that moment last fall.

This competition was just a joy to watch him compete and I hope there are many more of these in the future.

Dude it was like someone unleashed the beast in him. It wasn't even that it was a clean skate - he skated like he always knew that was gonna happen and even suggesting otherwise would have been ludicrous. and the way he supported vincent in the kiss and cry. such a stud :smokin:

I agree! It was such a confident, commanding, and sexy performance. He deserved 4th place overall.

July 2022 Fan Zone article by @clairecloutier:
Excerpts:
"I think it's great," Pulkinen said of his teammate's [Malinin] exploits. "If you can do it, then do it. Ilia's showing us that it's possible to do the quad Axel. I think we'll see more of that. It takes that one person to do it, to show everyone it's possible. It does put pressure on me, but there's always pressure with competition. Sports are about pressure."
This fall, Pulkinen will begin studies at Columbia University. During the fall semester, he'll take humanities classes to meet requirements. He plans to take more finance and economics courses in spring 2023.
"I'll be living on campus. I just got approved for housing," Pulkinen said. "And I'll be training at Chelsea Piers [a rink in southern Manhattan]. Tentatively, I'll train in the morning and have classes in the afternoon." He expects to commute via subway between Columbia and Chelsea Piers.
"I'm really excited to have him [Alex Johnson] as a voice in my career. He went through the same process of committing to full-time college and competing internationally. So I think his expertise can help. And he's going to drill me to the bone and work on my spins, turns, and expression," Pulkinen said with a smile. "Alex was one of the best performers in the world. I hope to take some of the qualities he had and bring them into my skating."

Camden won his first ISU Challenger Series medal - BRONZE - at the U.S. Classic in Lake Placid on 9/14/22! :cheer: https://twitter.com/USFigureSkating/status/1570240294985113600/photo/2

This article was published on October 19, 2022 - Camden was interviewed by FSO's Sean Conlon, "who is also a student at Columbia University, had the opportunity to sit down for a chat with Pulkinen about training and his approach to the upcoming season ahead of Skate Canada — his first Grand Prix event. He also talked about his first experience at Worlds last season and life at Columbia.":

Anna of Anything GOEs interviewed Camden before his 1st GP at Skate Canada (Oct. 24): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH5jHbmh2zQ

I think this was published in the summer? (website about the U.S. college admissions process):

I really enjoyed listening to Polina's conversation with Camden (uploaded on January 3, 2023):
I chat with 2018 Junior Champion Camden Pulkinen about his skating career so far: How and when he started, winning the Junior Championship in 2018, imposter syndrome and developing his confidence over the next few years as a senior competitor, tips and tricks he uses to ground himself competing now, balancing school and skating while at Columbia University in New York, and who his favorite skaters are.
Camden is back training at Great Park Ice for Nationals while on winter break from Columbia.

On to the new season! Bumping this thread up with this 14-minute video filmed by Jordan Cowan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ka5p9ZfyNA
US Skater Camden Pulkinen debuts the brand new choreography for his 2024 Short Program (set to "A Different Kind of Love" by @sonlux), created by Marie-France Dubreuil at the Ice Academy of Montreal.

On Ice Cinematography by Jordan Cowan of @OnIcePerspectives on May 19th, 2023.

CHEERS for Camden! So happy for his result! He deserved it (actually sliver IMO) but he seemed pleased and excited to be standing on the podium. Next year....keep up the great work!!! I read somewhere that he's graduating and going to train full time for the next Olympics. Already cheering him on to make the team.
