Austin, TX Package Bombings

Just saw the news - I mostly say "Good Riddance", but I hope that the authorities try to figure out his reasoning as to why he did it. What was the connection to all the packages that he sent? One of the victims was just 17 and the package was just delivered to his doorstep. :(

I hope there aren't more unexploded packages yet to be found.

I also hope the supposedly unrelated incident at Goodwill was a freak accident, and not another person planting crap to explode.

A friend received a large package from an Austin suburb yesterday (we live many states away) - handwritten address, claiming to be from a bakery. They don’t know anyone in TX. Google search for the bakery’s name turns up nothing; return address is a residential address. Her husband called the police, who called the fire dept, who called the bomb squad, who called the TX police, who went to the address and no one answered.

After much ado it turns out that her husband’s boss has a friend in TX trying to launch a baking company out of her basement. She figured she’d try to help her friend by buying a big package of treats for my friend and her husband as a surprise gift. Thankfully, in the end it was nothing, and a good laugh was had by all (except for the woman whose business got off to a rough start). But it’s horrifying that this is the world we live in now. :(

I think what is irking me the most: the piece of shit doing this was a TERRORIST. HE WAS FCUKING SENDING BOMBS IN THE MAIL. HE'S A TERRORIST.

But no, because he's white and a lot of his targets were black, he's just a troubled young man with a cry for help. NO. HE'S A FCUKING TERRORIST.

What I find so frustrating and depressing is that if this guy was muslim the RW would be screaming Islamoterrorist!!! Since he’s white there is hardly a peep from the RW because this terrorist is one of them.
