USA is sending 2 ladies in the Advanced Novice Girls category - 2019 U.S. Intermediate silver medalist Isabeau Levito, 12, and Mia Kalin, 11 (Team USA debut for both) - and China reportedly is sending Xiangyi AN, who will turn 13 in December, to her first international here. Posted in the Chinese news thread on Oct. 9:

IIRC, Advanced Novice skaters cannot do a 3+3 in the short and L3 is the highest level, so she actually did quite well aside from the 3F<

2.3 Single Skating Advanced Novice - Girls and Boys

Girls
The Short Program for Girls’ Single Skating shall consist of the following elements:
a) Axel Paulsen or double Axel Paulsen
b) Double or triple jump, may not repeat jump a)
c) One jump combination consisting of two double jumps or one double and one triple jump, both
jumps may not repeat jump a) or b)
d) Layback/sideways leaning spin or spin in one basic position with no change of foot (minimum six
(6) revolutions) and no flying entrance.
e) Spin combination with only one change of foot (minimum of five (5) revolutions on each foot). Flying
entry is allowed.
f) One step sequence fully utilizing the ice surface.

Levels explanations:
For Advanced Novice Single Skating, in all elements that are subject to Levels, only features up to Level
3 will be counted. Any additional features will not count for Level requirements and will be ignored by
the Technical Panel.

Thanks! I misunderstood about levels and 3-3 in SP. (I used to see Novice A skaters are given Lv4 in Japanese Novice Championship, as well as they can do 3-3s. But they only have FS and don't have SP.)

I hope we'll see some videos from this competition. AN's family have her channel on YT. Hopefully I can see her video at least. I love both of AN's programs for this season and am looking forward to seeing the progress as the season goes.

Wish all the best for AN as well as other Novice skaters! It's wonderful such many novice skaters (including Novice B) are participating in this event. Shame JSF didn't use this chance to let their novice/junior skaters experience an international competition.

Yes I believe Richaud did both her programs.
