ASHLEY CAIN'S PARENTS.....SKATERS?.....WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THEM?

Say, I just got done watching Nationals,and they mentioned that both her Parents (I believe if I remember right....Mrs. Cain name is Darleen. I can't remember her Father's name) were Skaters. What do we know about their Skating? Are there any clips? Or is there anything know?

My parents, Darlene and Peter Cain, are my coaches and have been my coaches since I started skating. My mother competed for Canada in ice dance and my father competed for Australia in pairs at the 1980 Olympics. My parents met touring in the ice shows, they toured for 10 years before settling down in Dallas, Texas.

Ashley skated with Tim LeDuc last year at nationals as well. She previously skated with Joshua Reagan.

Gee...makes you wonder if Ashley's first Partnership was ok? BTW. when did Darleen and Peter stop?

Partners stop skating together for all kinds of reasons. IIRC, there was a point she wanted to focus on singles. But it may also be that they didn't gel well together. Skating is very expensive (consider the cost of your lessons with Nick, and that top skaters have many lessons and ice sessions a DAY), so if you aren't having success, you always have to evaluate if you should continue.

Ashley is very tall, so finding the perfect partner is even more of a challenge, her choices are limited.
