Plushenko said he will perform on this show last time. He performed many Art On Ice shows since 2001, and he was one of the most beloved skaters there. He met with Edvin Marton on AOI in 2003. Maybe he wants to say good bye with memorable performance because he is in good shape now, he landed beautiful 3A on Sunday show. ( he wore his sex bomb costume! )

Thank you for the info. :) Hope to see some pics or videos pop up.

BTW, Averbukh did a show on Feb. 23 featuring: many of Russia's greatest, including Elena Radionova.

Here's the link with lots of pictures!

It's nice to see Radio not waste her time and keep herself busy going from show o show, stay in shape, etc.

Also, Savchenko is doing these shows AND going to worlds??? What a beast of a woman! :respec:

Won't be the first time for her. She did Art on Ice together with Szolkowy several times while they were competing, so did Volosozhar/Trankov, Cappellini/Lanotte and even Papadakis/Cizeron in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 season. Lambiel himself did that many times, Amodio, even Plushenko. From female skaters I remember Sotnikova skating at Art on Ice and then going to Worlds in the pre Olympic season. There have been others, of course, can't remember or name them all now.

Asian and North American skaters usually don't do shows during the competitive season, except some who took part in Japanese and US Stars on Ice tours when those shows/tours happened before the end of the season, but, since Art on Ice has always been in February-March, it's become a common thing for European skaters to take part in AOI between Europeans/Olympics and Worlds.

There are several fancams on this channel

Another Max & Tanya program here

Aliona & Bruno

The programs this year feel kind of underwhelming...Stephane's Schindler's List is interesting, but I didn't bother finishing the rest. Just not my cup of tea, I suppose.

I must say that Max&tatiana's programs are so beautiful. Especially considering the fact that they're fully retired now & had a baby.
Even now they're ably to convey true emotions on the ice.. something that Aliona& Bruno just can't do in shows without their "big elements".

What... you mean the pole dancer, the bizarre costume and thought of the Holocaust didn't resonate with you? *snort* Oh Stephane...

Just bumping this back up in case anyone who hasn't yet watched the video would like to do so. :)

Anastasiia Gubanova leads off the SRF broadcast skating to a live vocal performance of "Pie Jesu" (while 4 women in white alternately swing and dance on a stage behind her).
