Another teenager (like Tamir Rice in Cleveland) was shot by the police.

This happened in Baltimore. A 13 year old carrying a pellet gun that looked like a real gun was shot by the police but he is expected to survive.
IMO many parties are guilty here.
1.The toy gun manufacturer: Why create a dangerous toy like this? Let toys be toys.
2.Parents: They should know by now the risk of carrying something that looks like a real weapon. Why encourage their children to play with such toys? At least talk to them about what can happen.
3.The Police: In this case I think they are the least guilty party. There was no way for them to know that the gun was just a pellet gun. From the picture it looks like a real one. Did they try talking to the kid before shooting him? Did they have a choice? May be not if the gun looked like a real one. However, I think the way the kid was handling the gun should have given them a clue- perhaps. The good thing in this case was that they didn't shoot to kill. In a lot of the controversial cases the police shot and killed the person.
4.Society: The fascination with violent toys needs to end. You buy kids toy guns and they grow up thinking it's cool to carry a real one, and even use it at whim. We don't need more guns. We need more education to get along with each other.
