A QUESTION ABOUT ICE-DANCING

Ok, I was wondering about this, and what the answer to this would be. But does anyone know if when you learn Ice-Dancing with a Partner...if they also teach you to not hold your Partner's hand too tight? Or do you just get used to it? I ask this because I know that some people don't like being held to tight by the hand when I Ballroom Dance, and I was wondering if the same applied to Ice-Dancing?

@FSWer nobody teaches you this. You just hold your partner's hand, and if they're holding your hand too tight, you tell them.

There might be certain parts of the dance or the program where you have to hold your partner's hand a little tighter or a little more loosely, like if you're changing positions. But your partner shouldn't be holding your hand so tightly that it hurts you.

I found that if my partner and I were holding hands too tightly, it was because one or both of us was nervous about what we were trying to do. Being nervous makes the whole body tense up including the hands.

So we would go through whatever was making us nervous very slowly, trying to relax and feel comfortable. Hope this helps!
