I was close with my prediction for Grimmskiy -- they ended up 9th. Very happy with their skates and their scores in this debut.

Smart/Dieck were higher in the FD at least at Skate America.

I still think the judges were slightly less GOE-happy with Fear and Gibson in hopes of giving C/B a chance to catch up, but the scores here are even slightly lower for what they were getting as the season built last year.

It's a Challenger Series with a lenient technical panel for almost all of the couples, and it's not going to make the rest of the panelists and judges think about scoring everyone similarly moving forward. I know some still want to melt down about the time D/S got that boost (as did everyone else) and the proclamations about World bronze started, but just no.

I'm not a hater and I liked their Free Dance but Davis & Smolkin's score is completely nuts.
