We’ve been sitting here thinking this has been a fairly lackluster comp, so far. Post-Olympic let-down?

With few exceptions, everyone’s exhausted. The lower ranked skaters chased Bs to improve their ranking or secure their spot as the preferred competitor from their country. The higher ranked had the Grand Prix, Euros/4CCs, the Os and now Worlds. I for one wonder how the heck they are holding it together.

I really hope Nakai's team gets her some more mature programs next season. I cannot deal with this treacly, junior-esque styling for her.

Her team should talk with Yuma's. He is the master at making music that should be too twee for words into a compelling program - not by turning himself into something he's not, but by leaning into the fun without getting caught in the sticky-sweet.

I actually find that a plaintive song that would seem to require a lot more maturity than Ami has at the moment.

I started following her on Instagram at the beginning of the season and I haven't seen anything that indicates one way or the other. I do hope she sticks around for at least a little while longer. She has fun, unique programs that she performs well and she's been improving a fair amount and I would like to see that continue.
