2026 Worlds Pairs SP PBP - Prague Fling

Wozniak and Bouvart have wonderful dancy presentation qualities. Bidar's carriage, line, and arms are exquisite.

I'm so bummed about the Hungarians' mistake, because sometimes technique is beautiful in itself.

I love the young Japanese team. They're so on the verge. The verge of greatness, the verge of disaster, you just never know.

I would have given it to Hase/Volodin technically, because she's not putting her life in danger when he lifts her. Presentation-wise, Metelkina has quirky charisma, while Hase is a goddess.

I'd just like to say how much better the on-screen element-by-element scoring info is now that they have finally made the yellow review indicator separate from the green positive, red negative, grey neutral or red X invalid element GOE box.

Simply showing the review aspect could be particularly misleading for Ice Dancing because the tech panel often needs to have a second look to be sure they called the element level correctly. The differences between correct and incorrect edges can be so subtle.

Commentators were always making the full yellow box sound like such a bad thing when a review can actually result in an upgrade rather than a downgrade. To me review yellow really means the tech callers aren't positive they got it right on their initial try.

They don't CONSISTENTLY skate well outside of Asia. They had a good SP at Finlandia in the fall but their FS wasn't so great. Anyone who is calling them as potential bronze medalists here is smoking crack.
So they got a bronze medal. Just a small one. Does anyone think that counts? :saint:

They finally put it together outside Asia. ;)

Now, next season, it will be interesting to see if they can improve their pairs elements enough to make up for the difference in points lost with the elimination of the 2nd SBS jumping pass. They're not the only team that I think is going to be negatively impacted by that change, btw.

If I were they, I’d think that having the third-best FS at a World Championships, however narrowly edging out the reigning Olympic silver medalists’ and within a point of the Worlds silver medalists’, would be meaningful. Especially if I hadn’t qualified to skate the program at the OWG.
