In the past I have seen documents for technical panels around what is called "Field of Play" (I can't find them at the moment). That means they are given the benefit of doubt in regards to calling what they see at the time. I daresay by the amount of time it took for the scores to come up, there was obviously quite a bit of discussion around that element and the decision to deduction was not taken lightly because the panel would know it affected the podium placements. But why do a dodgy element that the slightest move would make it a violation?

Hey, Dune has been a top 3 FD two years in a row at worlds. Clearly the RD is holding them back and the only solution is a very innovative Golden (Sand Dune) Waltz.
