Shibutanis apparently. But also Krylova/Fedorov and Usova/Zhulin.Two debutants are on the podium.
Was the last time a debutant in ice dance got a medal at worlds with Klimova/Ponomarenko?

I'm convinced they'll take a couple seasons off and come back in 2028 with the goal of winning again in 2030.LOL Mark saying they’ll stick around for the OLYs in France.
In three years, lol."We can't wait to see you again," makes it sound like Laurence is content with staying in.
What she said and the look on her face. She’s out for revenge when she is not the victim."We can't wait to see you again," makes it sound like Laurence is content with staying in.
I think one of our esteemed members (who I really like her comments) said she was sure he would.LOL Mark saying they’ll stick around for the OLYs in France.
With Chock and Bates gone they need someone else to complain about. There was nothing outrageous about their GOE. SMH
I'm torn between not wanting to watch F-B/C and the fear that if F-B/C do retire, G/F, G/P, R/A, and all the other teams in their mid 30s will decide to stick around another season to try for that elusive world title. She has her world medal. Please retire now

I assumed her hen party will be in Prague."We can't wait to see you again," makes it sound like Laurence is content with staying in.
I get this sentiment completely. On the one hand, if FBCiz stay in, there are a lot of teams who will call it a day at the end of this season and not bother with putting themselves through the turmoil of another 4 years since the gold will never be within their grasp. I'd rather that pretty much all of those teams - ChoBat, GuigFab, GilPoir, ReedAmbru, FBCiz and even FearGib - all retire and let the younger teams have their time in the sun.I'm torn between not wanting to watch F-B/C and the fear that if F-B/C do retire, G/F, G/P, R/A, and all the other teams in their mid 30s will decide to stick around another season to try for that elusive world title.![]()
I can't really fault you there.Yeah sorry, that was a conscious decision![]()

What did they say? I really hope this isn't the case but the LaLas will need to make big changes next year if they're ever going to reach their potential. After reading LaLa’s mixed zone comments I really wonder if Zach is going to hang up his skates. He is very invested in his schooling and musical endeavors. It would be such a shame but the material they have been given and the judges scoring of them is really depressing.

Serious question - do you think younger teams will want to compete against them?I get this sentiment completely. That would be awful, but my god have they been failed by their team, the Canadian federation, and judging. After reading LaLa’s mixed zone comments I really wonder if Zach is going to hang up his skates. When you put it that way, they can stay. If those are my only options.I'm torn between not wanting to watch F-B/C and the fear that if F-B/C do retire, G/F, G/P, R/A, and all the other teams in their mid 30s will decide to stick around another season to try for that elusive world title.![]()
What confuses me about LaLa is that Zach is such a creative person yet they can't seem to come up with any interesting program ideas. After reading LaLa’s mixed zone comments I really wonder if Zach is going to hang up his skates. Apparently only Shibs and Krylova/Fedorov; not Usova/Zhulin or Klimova/Ponomarenko.Shibutanis apparently. But also Krylova/Fedorov and Usova/Zhulin.
Worst news of the day if this is so. I hope not. The La La's are undervalued imho but that can change. After reading LaLa’s mixed zone comments I really wonder if Zach is going to hang up his skates. I think most of the younger teams are thinking they have at least 2 more Olympic cycles in them so they can probably wait out Gui's ego through 2030.Serious question - do you think younger teams will want to compete against them?

And remember how scandalized people were by Z/K finishing third there, which qualified them for the GPF and "robbed" LaLa? There were some posters on this board that were outraged at the idea that Z/K were a top six in the world ice dance team.Same podium as the infamous GP Finlandia Trophy![]()

It might be because they are very different people with different interests. In the end, we probably get a compromise. What confuses me about LaLa is that Zach is such a creative person yet they can't seem to come up with any interesting program ideas.
I thought Usova/Zhulin won silver in their first worlds in 1989 but they'd been at Euros (but not Olympics/Worlds) in 1988. But hey, my aging GenX brain could definitely be wrong.Apparently only Shibs and Krylova/Fedorov; not Usova/Zhulin or Klimova/Ponomarenko.
