I think the Arena may not be the right venue for the closing ceremony.

I never understood what the point of holding it in Verona was, to be honest.

for "political" reasons it had to be in Veneto region rather than Milano.
You can argue that they could have held it in a random stadium (maybe not the Venice one which is in the middle of the laguna and a mess to reach).

Because it’s the Milano Cortina Olympics and Verona is the largest city in the Veneto region (with a spectacular venue) where Cortina d’Ampezzo is also located.

Tribute to the volunteers - I'll give a shout out to our very own 4rkidz and any other FSU volunteers. It sounds like the volunteer experience here was.... very Italian .

ETA because it's not worth a separate post: I like the Arena di Verona, which is in between Milano and Cortina, for the closing ceremonies far better than the split opening ceremonies, which were just weird.

This is a far cry from the closing ceremony in Salt Lake City. I want to hear Kiss singing I Want to Rock and Roll All Night and Josh Groban with Charlotte Church singing The Prayer again!

It's a far cry from Tokyo 2021 and London 2012.

I'm rather dumbfounded as to how widely they've missed the mark with this closing ceremony when everything else about these Olympics has been fabulous and hit just the right note globally.
