I'd love to see Jia with a team that was better at packaging and bringing out a personality in a skater. There's so much to like about her skating, but the packaging and programs don't make her stand out at all.

I think the issue is that the boards are padded for the short track speed skating. So either they look different from what the skaters are used to, or they're a bit wider than rink boards usually are.

It was weird because her coaches were standing right there. She should have seen them with her peripheral vision, at least. Or maybe it was their loud approval that caused her to spook on the jump landing.

Lovely performance, and very good technically with just a couple issues on the spins, and one jump step out.

SP: 65.66 = 14th Place
FS: 141.02 = 1st Place
Total: 206.68 = 1st Place

Jia is still young; she needs to learn how to present herself with more confidence, and given that she’s a lyrical hand-dancer, more ballet training might help her hands add to her presentation. A lovely skate from a good technical skater that’s on her way up.

Generically lovely. I really like the softness to Shin's skating, but I'd like to see something different from her every now & then.

That music always makes me think of Mishkutenok/Dmitriev at 91 Worlds and no one can match that. But I like Jia, hoping she does well in future

So lovely. The boards saved her a fall but otherwise quite nice.

Jen Robinson went for a white wedding-esque dress in 2002 with this music, too. And in 1998 Bobek was having a disastrous Olympics with it.
