2026 Olys Team Event PBP Day 1 - There Is An I(AM) in Team

I guess 20% of the pair short programs being quality is better than 0%, but that's kind of sad.

I just hope they didn't waste their only phenomenal Oly performance on the Team event
I read an article about competing at the Olympics and how unpredictable it is from event to event for an athlete. It's all about being able to keep your focus and the Olympics are harder than any other competition. They can be extraordinary or have a total meltdown. Like Lindsey Vonn is planning to ski without an ACL. They removed it. That's either amazing or crazy.

MiuKih's problems this season haven't been with the SP. They've had two 79+ scores and one 77+; they've had more issues in the FS because her SBS jumps are almost always called at least q or worse.

I really wish we could have Sandra on CBC for more than just the pairs. While I generally find Carol Lane to be relatively inoffensive in her singles commentary, I just prefer Bezic’s voice. Bezic also seems to be leaning into technique and insight on CBC more than she did on NBC in the past.

Sandra Bezic said that "this is how they practice".
Well, that's what Meagan Duhamel says. She also said the same thing about ShiNagy after the SP at US Nats, so I give much of what she says publicly at least a little side eye, though I will say that I find it more believable about MiuKih.

I am shocked to discover it is now

Depending on if we have rotation calls at the Olympics for the top skaters. Sometimes those disappear.

Alrighty then, we've got the first group of women on the ice now!

Three Two of the women in this group in unitards is yet another sign of how figure skating culture & fashion has changed over the last decade.

Whoops - forgot Schild isn't in a unitard, technically, in this group. Just ugly sheer blue tights that match her dress.
