That death spiral was one of the ugliest things I have ever seen in figure skating as a planned element.

It's not just that they won't answer the phone. It's like what is the point of even putting it in there when they literally ignore it?? There's so little relationship to the noise happening behind them at that point that the sound is irrelevant.

Wow Sandra Bezic (doing commentary on CBC) does not like the Georgian team AT ALL. Her commentary about them seems way over the top though. And clearly the judges don't agree with her.

They've been doing it for years so somehow it must score well.

The program felt very flat today. Won't go ahead of the Japanese, but probably will go into 2nd place, and secure a medal.

SP: 75.46 = 2nd Place
FS: 146.29 = 2nd Place
Total: 221.75 = 2nd Place

MetBeru - 3tw - beautiful; SBS 3s+2a+2a - nicely done; SBS 3t - he pitched a bit forward on the landing but fine otherwise; throw 3f - huge as ever but she still hasn't answered the phone; first lift - God, I hate his footwork, especially from the skycam; throw 3lo - ooooo, step out from her - that will keep them out of gold; BODS - calf grab from hell; combo spin - alright; second lift - through it; last lift - made it through that too; choreo seq - done.

Well, that will be good enough for the podium, even if it was scary in some spots. TES is ahead of the Hungarians and we know PCS will be too.

Yikes! Step out on the throw. Award for ugliest death spiral position. Someone buy him some better technique on the lifts.

M/K have 0 reaction to finding out they get a medal. Perhaps they are still thinking about the SP. Or just don't want to celebrate a rough skate from P/M

They're only giving the scores in Italian, so they're having to wait to see it on the jumbotron. I don't think it's no reaction, I think it's a delayed reaction. They might not have known until after the camera cut away.

Horrid position on the death spiral. Why did they pick that?

The real question is how is that green?

The overscoring of them is so extreme that I'm glad Bezic is pushing back with equally extreme commentary.

M/B: the positive GOE on these lifts is kinda crazy. Fast, but judges obviously not seeing his feet.

I think they skated better at the GPF than either of their events here.

Not really. I'm convinced the judges only watch her in the lifts.
