Who was it yesterday whose dog/cat was being super needy in pairs? Mickey Bear (big dog) is doing the same now. I made the mistake of going for a snack in the ice resurface and even though I shared it he's not satisfied

I was really hoping that Conti/Macii would be able to make the podium, but that last throw probably took them out of contention

Really thankful for Conti and Macii that there was a team event. Great to see Italy come third when it looks like they'll have no individual medal in any discipline.

This could drop below Chan and Howe, though probably not lower. Guessing Sara's injury is worse than they're letting on.

Unfortunately too many small errors chipping away from their score today to make a push for the podium.

I'd say that's debatable. They nearly beat McBark overall at Nats despite the disaster SP.

Ok, but they barely beat Shin/Nagy who had a terrible FS.

ConMac - 3tw - nice; SBS 3t+2a - couldn't get the 2nd 2a off; first lift - very nice; SBS 3s - excellent; throw 3lo - hand down but stayed up; second lift - nice; BODS - elegant; combo spin - alright - went on way too long; throw 3s - both hands down & maybe two-footed; last lift - nice; choreo seq - fine.

TES is below ChanHowe and I think they should finish behind them overall. But they've got their Olympic medal, so it's all good.

Given Conti’s injury, that was a great skate and I hope they can be happy with it.

Conti/Macii - Gorgeous dress fr Sara. Bad wobble on SBS combo jump landing for her. Lovely lifts (though dismount on last one was a bit awkward). Hands down on both throws but no fall.

He's so thin I'm never sure how he manages to do all the lifts.

Given her injury I guess that's the best they could do, but had been hoping they would sneak back up the standings. They are smiling though, and they have the team event medal.

The television coverage of freestyle skiing and snowboarding never makes any attempt to explain how the scoring system works. Figure skating does way, way better, I have to say.

I sometimes remind myself of this when I find myself getting irritated by all the talking that commentators do. Most casual observers of figure skating like to have lots of explanation!
