2026 Europeans - Free Dance - "Sheffield Whinesday"

I really don't know what you saw. For example, Olivia and Tim don't really have any music to match for the most part, except maybe the nuances in the twizzles. In fact, they can basically throw their elements anywhere and probably match whatever non-descript stuff is going on.

I think the Georgians have wonderful highs and lows and the music does in fact match what they are doing.
I totally disagree. Olivia and Tim work with the tension and phrasing of the music. That is why it works. And they take their time with it. It is not rushed. They fill the value of the phrases with and build intensity when required.

As for the Georgians, no it didn't work for me. When judging you need to pick clearly when the element fits in with the musical phrasing. For example with the twizzles, it was like "the music is fast here so let's put the twizzles here because twizzles are fast". But could you pick where in the music structure they fitted and how it matched the music? For me it did not. Other elements again didn't fit as they should. If I don't see it I cringe.

We could have a fantastic discussion and sit down and analyse it. But if you have to do that you would have to question did it work. It has to be obvious on first impressions and for me it wasn't.

LopBri consistently bore me, which puts me in the teeny minority here on FSU, but I do think they have a shot at the podium if only because the FFSG is damn well aiming to get their $$ worth every year at Euros.

They have a shot at the podium because Reed is literally not comparable to what we just saw and the spacing between them in almost every hold is insane. And watch how many times this program comes to a COMPLETE stop.

He wobbled the second part of the one-foot and then by the fourth critera, the twizzle, he was way off. That should easily be negative GOE. And they are done for.

I so adore this team. Deliberately held one-foot steps, I love the nuance of her going around him at the end of the midline. I wasn't sure of the program at the start of the year but their content always ends up standing out to me. Twizzles with a difficult entry and cover ice, Combo lift again brilliant.
I don't feel like they get credit for all the difficulty they have.

Oh, I'm not saying that I think ReedAmbru should be ahead of them - not in any universe. I think LopBri could easily beat GuigFab because both French teams in this group have way more political power at Euros behind them than the Italians.

And, Saulius' mistake just now should seal the deal.

Totally with you. They have always bored me. Was hoping R/A beat them but dang it, he just biffed a twizzle.

Sometimes I feel like I'm also in the minority when I talk about spacing and the stop-go element of these two. Like I get that for the average person this is fun but it's SO EMPTY and the PCS mean something for the sport, people who watch each and every competition for the sake of competition should.. slightly understand?

I think they've stopped 5 times or maybe more. The end is fun, but it's really the most basic of ChSq of all probably.

Holy hell. This program is turning into a righteous mess for ReedAmbru. May be enough to drop them behind DavSmo, though I think they'll probably stay ahead of SmaDie. We shall see.
