Amanda Urban has some really nice qualities as an ice dancer (I find she has the more captivating presence of the two) but the different level of skill and experience means this partnership is going to take time if it’s going to work.

The programme is pretty generic, unsurprisingly for a new team, and I’m not sure about Peter’s teal trousers / beige T combo.

Really liked Foroglou-Gadoury/Anderson’s choreo hydroblade (though I wouldn’t exactly call it a hydroblade).

ETA Also bonus points for doing the character step on the long axis, even if it was crawling.

GEM has surprisingly been great today if you are in Canada and want to switch over.

Korneva/MacDonald have very nice fundamentals; unusual set of one foot turns and well done. Completely forgettable programme so hopefully they can find a bit of on-ice personality because they have a good base to build from.

He was the Canadian novice champion a number of years ago with a previous partner, but so far hasn't really broken into the Senior ranks. I really enjoyed their performance today too.
