Nightmare start for skater from across the ditch (aka New Zealand). That's a lot of red and grey on the tracker, and a lot of doubles and singles. She moves her arms nicely and her layback spin was good. Hopefully she comes back stronger next year.

Sound is fine for me. Well, as usual the music is too quiet compared to commentary but that's pretty standard.

Irmatova - Well done to get those triples done with so little speed going into them. At least she chose slow music (though she's not really skating to it). She was really concentrating hard. She did okay.

Oh, I didn't know that. What a shame. We need more skaters at our Nationals even if they come from elsewhere!

Prasad needs 58.24 TES for Worlds. She will be right there before reviews and sadly nowhere close when they are done.

Prasad making a good effort at interpretation/presentation although this is clearly the group concentrating on just trying to get through the technical elements. Jumps look short unfortunately.

Prasad - I found her fascinating. She is a bit gangly. Did really get into her music, had good expression and had nice highlights with the music. I would love to see her do something a bit out there (bit like Gutmann doing Jaws). I think there will be quite a few reviews.

Montesinos Cantu is so pleasant, always nice lines and carries herself so well but this was an all-out disaster.

I don't understand why almost all of team Mexico has made the move to Mills & Gillman when their primary focus seems to be that whatever Rotation Room thing

Cantu doing a Pogorilaya impression on two of those early jumps - those falls were hard. She's a lot faster than the previous skaters and better presentation but the jump errors are going to depress the technical score. Should pick up some decent PCS though.

Cantu - she had good speed but couldn't control the jumps. I like her skating skills - good knees and edges. And I did like the dress.

Chris needs coffee or a xanax or something-- who knows which-- because there is no prestigious start to be found anywhere. A+ for enthusiasm.

Isaacs - Started okay (not great, but okay), kind of fell apart a bit the closer we got to the end. Looks like some stamina issues. Looked like a lot of work but good effort.

And now I want to go off and watch Yagudin's Man In the Iron Mask program.

Isaacs - she had one of the things I find most frustrating with skating skills - has the speed but the legs were stiff and she was on flat edges throughout. And it was obvious that she was just gaining speed to do the jumps. And when I hear about South African skaters I always think of Sherrine Human from 1998 Olympics.

Fixed my issues and caught up. I don't feel like I missed much. I did like Isaacs' costume though.

Chris has confused Dupuis with Landry when talking about the short program.

That has to be a record for elements with 0 GOE.

Chan - the dress looks like it was a pattern from the 80s. The skirt was so high on the waist. Her skating skills for this level were really poor. Short ploddy strokes and lots of crossovers and flat pushes. Although she did a decent loop in the step sequence.
