2026 4CC - Free Dance

The US is so deep in Ice Dance that they had probably at least 7 teams that could actually compete at the Olympics and have a decent finish in the standings and that's not even including the Shibs.

My dream podium next year: Z/K, LaLa and Lop/Bri in some order, assuming (and hoping) that current top 5 go away.
Yes please! Although, I wouldn't be too upset if it were the Mrazeks instead of L/B on that podium :D

Musing on what infamous brother/sister pair the Browns can play next year. They’re too small for Siegmund and Sieglinde. Maybe Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia?

Zingas/Kolesnik will net 412 points for their win, for a total of 3719 and will be 6th in WS after they do the update. They'll be 79 points below Gilles/Poirier, who are 5th.

The penultimate RD group will be:
6-8: Zingas/Kolesnik, Reed/Ambrulevicius, Carreira/Ponomarenko
9-10: Smart/Dieck, Lajoie/Lagha

Caught up with the last group when I got home from work.

Well done to Holly and Jason on finishing 5th which I think is the best finish at a 4CC for an ice dance team. That program does work really well for them so I am not surprised they are keeping it. When I saw it at Australian Nats in 2024 it was stunning seeing it live.

As for the other teams:

Fabri/Ayer are very good skaters but the program is probably a bit generic. I didn't go away with any lasting impression of it. But as they showed in their RD they certainly have the ability to do something more fitting to their abilities.

The Browns were great. Love that program. They worked so well with the music and had some excellent transitions and tricks (like his flipping over her in the ChSt).

Green/Parson I hadn't seen during the season so the program was a surprise but a lovely surprise. Had some unison issues on the OFS. I think her dress is amazing. The embellishment on the top looks 3D printed?

Z&K - great skate. Their unison and interpretation was very very good and technically strong.

The only thing I will say is, I hope to see Zingas and Kolesnik on top of many more podiums in the future!
For awhile now i've been worried about who would inherit the top spot for US dance when C/B finally call it quits since i didn't see any real contenders for podium spots at the major competitions like during the GP season and Worlds. But Z/K have got the look of a team on the rise who will keep getting better and will be the team that leads US ice dance in the next Olympic cycle.

ZingKol are as much dependent upon good material as any of the other two teams that occupied the US #2 spot in this Olympic cycle.
