Team USA win the Team Spirit award! They look very surprised. Jason was almost too distracted by the presents to take the microphone for the interview in Japanese.

Wow, this is the first time that someone in the podium has won the team spirit award. I think that last team, the Korean team deserved it, but I thought they didn’t get it because they were on the podium.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Jason being able to speak Japanese was a huge plus.

Okay i was not expecting a 30 minute intermission.

Kudos to the lighting designer who has managed to make Mao LOOK like Elphaba. Oh, wait, the lighting shifted to a purple tone & now she does not look completely green, lol.

It kind of defeats the purpose of having those tiny zambonis clearing the ice so quickly.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting that either

Defying Gravity exhibitions take me back to local club comps. We'd hear that song (and Popular) multiple times a day.

I mean, we could have! We've already had a costume change and Korean hair bling, music from a movie/TV series, music from a musical/opera, superstar artist, and sad girl/emo cover - I don't know how else to define Amber's "Hit the Road, Jack" cover that Jason used, lol.

That was a crazy weird fall for Amber on the axel - glad she looks to be okay.

I feel there may be another costume change coming up here with LopBri. Yup. They're both dressed for the club. Different clubs, I'm guessing, but the club nonetheless.

LOL - first Kaori dies on the ice to end her program, now Piper & Paul. Why do I feel like all of the remaining skaters have formed a pact to die on the ice to end their programs today as a metaphorical expression of how ready they are for this season to die at long last?

Also, it's nearly 12:30am and there is an awful lot of noise coming from someone in the apartment above me. The only problem with this is that I'm pretty sure the apartment is still vacant. I haven't seen anyone moving in during the past few weeks & it was definitely empty 3 weeks ago when there were a bunch of maintenance people up there re-doing the floors & replacing appliances during Worlds. Question for FSU - I'm not crazy enough to go up there & find out what's happening myself. Would you call the police about it?

I think there's a number to call for off-hours maintenance emergencies, but I'd have to call the main office # & get it and I'm not sure a maintenance person would be able to address the issue if they're uncertain whether or not the apartment has been leased.

They have a limited idea of what kinds of emergencies can happen. What if someone got robbed or something?

Right - and I just called the non-hours # which goes to the property management company. Their message says to press 1 for a maintenance emergency so that the call can be forwarded to the answering service. Which... Even less helpful because they're really not going to know what to do. I can still hear someone moving around upstairs & I suppose I can leave a message for the answering service. If it wasn't nearly 1am, I'd go across the hall & ask my downstairs neighbors if someone moved in & I just didn't notice, but...
