2025 Skate Canada Rhythm Dance PBP - I'm Too Spooky

Kaitlyn Weaver is honestly way too excited about the RD theme for how boring a lot of the programs will actually end up being.

The thing that's the most frustrating about this theme is there's so much iconic music from the 90's but forcing that stupid 120 BPM rule has taken away any real potential for variety and the skaters actually being able to have fun with what they're doing.

Did Emily and Ian have those costumes in France? I feel like I would have remembered them as I think hers is particularly horrible.
I believe so. Emily for sure had the same unitard 2 weeks ago that she's wearing today.

This belongs in a different closed-off forum probably, but having talked with a few recently retired skaters about the decades dances after discussing on Youtube, they told me Weaver is very in favor of them and defends it to no end :-P

I feel like the crimping was more '80s too. But now that I'm getting a better look, it looks like several of the women were passing the crimper around.
Crimping was definitely on its last legs by the early '90s - I graduated HS in '91 and if I were to go through my YB photos, I'm sure there'd be a few girls who were still crimping their hair but not as prevalent as it was 2-3 years earlier when I was a freshman/sophomore in HS.

It's so odd because I do not remember pleather or actual leather being that huge of a fashion fabric in the '90s.
It was definitely a thing in Europe in the 90s. My other half got himself some fashionable leather jeans in the mid 90s when he was going to a Rude Euro art school. He still has them although they haven’t fit him in a very long time. Oh and he wants to know why there seem to be no 90s techno or industrial music RDs.

They should have just gone with Madonna songs, or just restrict to Vogue and make everyone use the same music. It couldn't be any worse.

I get that vibe from her Instagram too when she talks about dance specifically and not her choreography work. I love her as an ice dancer and she seems to be a decent enough human being but her taste in RD themes is terrible and I would like her to expand her horizons a little.

Also unless they can sort out the 2000's copyright issues they've pretty much done all the decades anyway unless they want to start engaging with the 1930's and 40's.

Something still feels a bit off about Bratti/Somerville’s opening choreo, but it’s not Ian’s fault he has such a baby face; he’s more than old enough to wear a harness and stroke a butt if that’s what he wants to do.

:yikes: twizzles.

I mean, I didn't hate it. Ian gave good face, as it were
