2025 Skate Canada Free Dance PBP - I Know What You Did Less One Ear

The problem being that Somerville's ego won't let him be a Bates to his partner's Chock. He won't allow anyone else to be the star of the team, not even for one program.
I don't know that that's the case rather than you interpreting something above and beyond. He's a naturally comfortable performer. And thank God for that because if it was just relying on Emily then they would've sunk even further long ago.

Lim & Quan, what had potential to be a glorious and beautiful free dance is just ruined by the vocal running almost 3 full minutes of this. I know they had to explain the theme and all of that but it's just a massive, massive miss and doesn't play to either of their strengths at all. Throw this into the 'we would've given it to Soucisse & Firus if they had stuck around' pile.

Air raid siren - the Americans are invading, and Ye Quan is on his way to the front. Poor Hannah is left to pursue her solo dance career waiting, and wondering if he'll ever return. They have nice highlight moves in the program, like the curve lift, and she is a wonderful performer even when the material doesn't lift them.

109.44 = 1st Place
180.41 = 1st Place

I’m glad Lim/Quan managed to pick up a second GP (not about Versluis’ injury obv) but they’re looking a bit pooped after unexpected back-to-back competitions on different continents. Even Hannah’s expression is somewhat flat until they get to the choreo angsty face grabbing.

Somerville needs a smaller partner, longer sideburns and jacket or other clothes that de-emphasize his butt.

Neset/Markelov should look for a different country to represent -- Israel?

That was lovely :swoon: Regardless of how it scores I see these two making their move after all the post Olympic retirements.

People have been criticizing him for his ego for years, it's not anything new. Emily is a good partner for him in the sense that she is willing to let him be the star. If he were to find a partner who was his equal in star power, I doubt that it would last very long because it would require him being willing to sacrifice being the star in every program.
