2025 NHK Trophy Rhythm Dance PBP - Spice Up Your Live(Barn)

Wow, the judges did not go for that. They were lowballed on GOE on all their elements.

I thought their choreo step was great, in hold (even if open) the whole time. It was fast, it had dynamic movement, great flow, and was so atypical than what most teams are giving.

If the GOE sticks as it is, the Shibutanis are getting a bit hosed.

A few stumbles on key elements meaning their score will not be as strong.

68.53 = 3rd Place

Nice senior Grand Prix debut, and a team for whom the Backstreet Boys actually works to their strengths.

72.12 = 1st Place

Tough travel schedule to lose the amount of time they did travelling from Canada to Japan, and so the performance was not as good as last weekend.

69.73 = 3rd Place

PCS in the low 8´s

Fournier-Beaudry / Cizeron can go to sleep now, nothing to worry about

Definitely hosed. And I agree about their choreo step - it was nice to see a team in any kind of hold for once.

You “see” better than I do but it looked undertrained and sort of glitchy, like she was a bit off from where he thought she would be. Music is the same ‘90s dreck.

I think all the fans don’t need to be worried about Green/Parsons, Carreira/Ponomarenko, Zingas/Kolesnik. The Shibs are not going to the Olympics with those scores. They should have tried to come back like two seasons ago or more… and maybe have a real coach.

And I’ve been transported back to my college clubbing days at Sound Factory.
If you’re from the SF Bay in the mid 90’s, you know!

I love the 90s and I can bust out to “the Humpty dance” more than anyone, I don’t think the Shibutanis costumes help them, he looks like he’s in warm-up gear and you can’t really see any lines, I don’t mind her costume as much as I have big questions about his.

Yoshida's outfit looks more sultry 2025 anime character than anything 1990s. I don't actually mind this crazy music remix, but I find them a bit out of synch and sloppy today.

At this point, I'm not sure we'll see the Shibs at Finlandia. Pate/Bye may get a 2nd GP after all.

So, in trying to fix the audio, it would seem we've lost Mark for the time being, lol.

The Shibs returning in the Olympic season might run in the end like the one Fusar-Poli/Margaglio and Drobiazko/Vanagas had in Torino 2006, maybe will qualify to the Games but will be like in 7th-8th at best
