Finally back home and yay for movement in ice dance, granted due to mistakes but I will take it.

I wish Mrazeks could have won bronze mainly because I want Bratti/Sommerville to get a new FD for Nationals. Doubt that is happening now.

So happy for Lopareva/Brissaud. This interview is great, even though I don’t understand everything I get the gist. So many teams need to rework or scrap programs completely.

Half Russian, half Montréal accent, I’d say.

Evgeniia has a thick (and adorable) Russian accent but no Quebec accent at all (unlike Papadakis and Cizeron for instance). When she and Geoffrey left for Montreal, I told her jokingly that I couldn't wait to hear her talking with a mix of Russian and Quebec accent. She swore it would never happen. And she was right. In Montreal, she speaks English 99% of the time, even with Geoffrey (whose English is crap) that's why she didn't take on "Québécois". Guillaume was here in Angers by the way, and his French Canadian accent keeps getting heavier all the time

Congratulations to the medalists! I never could have predicted it, but I'm thrilled! Ian still needs a new partner. Now, maybe, can we get a new RD outfit for Emily? It's atrocious. I don't know what happened to G/F but I'm almost scared to watch. Sounds like it might have been disastrous. I'm not a fan, but I can't imagine going from 1st to 4th.

Can someone give a brief overview?

Evgeniia Lopareva/Geoffrey Brissaud (FRA) danced to their first ISU Grand Prix title on home ice in Angers (FRA) on Saturday, upsetting favorites Charlène Guignard/Marco Fabbri (ITA) to take gold.

Deservedly. The judging has been spot on.

Sigh...maybe one day it will be spot on when Charlene and Marco have a great day.

My random dance comments. Only had a chance to catch up on the FD.

L&B are my new favourites. Love that FD. She particularly is very sharp in her moves. The slidey thing with her leg over his head was not as good as in Skate Canada.

G&F - to me it felt flat. Kind of one level and going through the motions. I thought that lift might have been negative GOE because of the problem on the first half but the second part of that element was excellent. It balanced out the negative.

Bratti & Somerville - very well skated but a bit generic.

My other highlights

Neset & Markelov - I love this FD. Really interesting chorey and movement. Beautiful skating skills. I am amazed at her strength in the lifts because she holds those body positions so well.

Dupayage & Nabais - I don't think I have seen them before. But these two are stars of the future. Her skating skills are wonderful (so far down in knees and her skating action is very fluid). I loved the way they used the nuances in that music with really interesting choreography. They had repetition in the chorey to great effect. Don't care if they came 10th. I really liked it. Will need to watch it again.
