Thank you for that clarification. I have only lived in highly population places during my adult life so I forget that all areas are not squished together.Colorado counties are huge. Elbert County (the location where the first case was found) is a largely rural, agricultural area that stretches far to the eastern part of the state. I doubt that specific case would directly affect Colorado Springs or Denver. However, I'd guess that the new variant is a lot more widespread than currently known. (Elbert County is larger than Rhode Island. The population is 26K vs. more than a million for Rhode Island.)
