2019 Junior Worlds Mens SP & FS

I hate when Pulkinen skates a clean SP because you know he's going to freak out and bomb the free. He does this just to feck with our heads, but the boy skates like a dream when he wants to.
Yeah I was just thinking that it might've been better for him overall had he made a little mistake in the short... :shuffle:

Good from Krasnozhon, aside from the tightness on the opening combo. He needs to clean up his posture and line a lot, but I like his awareness of the judges and audience, he clearly shows the ability to express something, even if his presentation is still immature. Great triple Axel too.

Russia No 4 Not bad. The boys are not leaving any room for error. History tells us, he'll bomb the free too unless he's on a mission to redeem last year's nightmare. My confidence for the US team lies with Tomoki.

Joubert and Fa are pleased. There are now 4 skaters with scores bunched together with a score of 77 something. The FS is going to be totally unpredictable as to who will medal.

Entertaining from Savosin, nice detail and polish in his skating, great edgework in the step sequence (not surprised to see level 4), good interpretation, I thought the GOE was a little high on his first 2 jump passes.

Jeez, even Savoisin is clean. Jumps looking much firmer than at the Russian Cup, and that wasn’t that long ago.

What is going on here  Does this mean the ladies are doomed? Or are the lads just saving the melt downs for the free? The best thing about Grassl is his win over Rizzo at Italian nationals give Rizzo the kick in the ass he needed to do the quad.

What a well skated event by the top 10 skaters.

I started a separate thread for Jr. World Pairs competition. No time to type all the entries but there is a link to entries and time schedule.

Litvintsev is my new fave of the year! :kickass: Love the sophisticated lines. At least someone had the brains to go for the Azerbaijan card. :shuffle:

I loved him too! And his skating looks as good live as he does on tv.

So following up on my previous post, I’ll reiterate how exciting it was to see so many clean programs. I do wonder if rule changes will happen in the future such as adding quads. Although to me, the real problem was the judges not differentiating among PCS as so many skaters had almost the same PCS and were not even close. To me, Savosin was clearly undermarked and Krasnozhon and Gumennik were overmarked as the most obvious. Anyway, after a dinner that included a lot of wine, on to pairs!

I so want Camden to hit his free skate and show me he can have one excellent competition. It'll still take a bit more to convince me he'd be a viable competitor for the U.S. moving forward. I think he's a beautiful skater but I'm forcing myself not to be a fan of his or have any expectations for him.

Mishina & Galliamov - she does not look too excited to start. I think I lack a certain appreciation for the music and theme here.
