“I am a woman and I am fast”: what Caster Semenya’s story says about gender and race in sports

Maybe someone can start a separate thread to discuss transgender athletes? :shuffle:

ETA: I had linked to an earlier thread but then realized that was why I had started this separate thread for Semenya in the first place!

UCLA was once just known as the "Southern Branch of the University of California." I'm not sure how they ever fit that on jerseys.
It's been known as UCLA for my entire lifetime and I'm in my 60s.

They wanted to win gold easy but their strategy failed.
That's another nonsense claim about trans women. That people go through the expense and trouble and discrimination of being trans just to win a few sports competitions. It's blatantly ridiculous.

And Caster Semenya is intersexed which is entirely different from being trans.
