Jaycee/s story is important because she might have become like her abusers - yet she did not. Indeed, she is triumphing, in spite of them. Her story illustrates the strength of the human spirit.
Looking at what happened, and being able to tell the story in whatever detail she chooses, is critical to her healing process; and will help her family in the years ahead.
She deserves our admiration and respect - along with the best that the world can offer.
