Judging panels and implications - 2026 Olympics

Here's a fascinating one: Look at the advanced protocols for the Men's Free Skate. Look at the PCS rankings from the judge from China.

In the end, the judge was mostly in the middle of what everyone else gave. Obviously Grassl first is a choice and also the Donovan score sticks out, but most everyone else is right in line in a night that no one quite knew what to do.

You’ll see for Junhwan a 7th place ordinal, but it’s the same score that Switzerland gave and was worth 2nd on their own score card.

I'm just isolating the judge's own PCS rankings, not the relative scores or overall scores, or how close they were to other judges. Looking purely at how they ranked the skaters:

Tied for 1st: Shaidorov, Gogolev, Grassl
Tied for 4th: Kagiyama, Torgashev, Aymoz
7th: Cha
8th: Siao Him Fa
9th: Rizzo
10th: Sato
11th: Britschgi
12th: Naumov
13th: Egadze
14th: Gummenik
Tied for 15th: Miura, Malinin
