Junior Women SP & FS

Why does Gracie keep saying "step double axel step double axel" when talking about 3-jump combos? I've never heard a commentator do that before.

One fall for Annika, but a lovely skate. Say what you will about the song (apparently her team had a lot to say), it suits her, and that dress is absolutely gorgeous.

Chao

3z-2t, 3r these jumps look tight, 3s, such finesse in her positions and she performs the whole program, 3z fall, 3f-2a-2a, most complete PCS skater, panel should review jumps, though

I mean technically she's correct. You are having to take a step up into the axel each time. I guess she's trying to distinguish from combos where you go directly into the next jump without a step.

Kim, H.

3z, 3r-2t, 3s-3t with good distance, not as much interpretation as Shao and Chao, 3f-2a-turns-2t, 3r fall, good fight and nice technique

Great skates from all the medalists!

We’ll have to see how seniors go when it comes to jr. world team. Of the juniors, Shao and Chao were the 3rd and 2nd best Americans in the JGP standings behind von Felten (skating senior here) so they should be in the conversation.

That was a great event. So many of the juniors had nervous falls in the short but they came back fighting in the free skate.
And good work by our commentary team. It's cool to hear Gracie Gold going hard on the tech explanations.
