Carreira/Ponomarenko Need a Cheer Thread

USFS' article on C/P and Z/K ahead of Nationals:
Excerpt:
"I feel like bringing Perfume back brought back a spark and confidence in us, and it's been working super well," Carreira said. "We made some changes, but the essence of the program is still the same."
Ponomarenko said that the adaptability has become a strength of theirs.
"We're very comfortable with changes on the spot and making changes look competition-ready quickly."
For Carreira, the season also carried the weight of her own citizenship process, a journey she began at 18. Now, the 25-year-old has a weight lifted off her shoulders. After years of waiting, everything came together in a single day.
"It was definitely weighing on me," she said. "It was something completely out of my control."
As the Olympics loomed closer, Carreira was struggling to secure an appointment. On the evening of Nov. 19, she got a date: the next morning.
"I went in, did my exam, my interview, and then 30 minutes later I was sworn in as a citizen," she said. "By three o'clock, I had my passport with me.
"Before, it was a big thing that was standing in our way. Even if we did everything right, we could still not go because I don't have a passport. Now, it's on us to do our job on the ice."
With that settled, Carreira and Ponomarenko have shifted their focus entirely to prepare for St. Louis. Their approach is simple: skate to the best of their ability and leave the ice proud of what they put out there. Ponomarenko emphasized staying focused amid Olympic noise.
"There's going to be a lot of extra stuff surrounding the Games," he said. "So, we just want to stay in our own bubble and focus on the task at hand."

Christina has a slightly different perfume dress

perfume still an incredible program

i am a nervous wreck lol

editing this because I don't want to make a second post, but they skipped lifts in the runthrough however outside of it the did the Carmen bull lift then later the lift where she stands on his thighs and leans back then comes down and then they go into a rotational lift with a kind of interesting position. So I'm guessing those are the lifts (Carmen somewhere towards the beginning and the other two at the end where it's building kind of like original Perfume). Not a ton of changes but the music is slightly different ina good way. Anyway it looks gorgeous.

Watched them practice. They look awesome. Very good applause for them considering there aren't many folks there. Dinner time, I guess, not even any commentary.
Just finished the practice. They got much stronger applause and whistles than the Shibs. In face, all the teams on this practice were received better than the Shibs. Guess there are more like myself who are not at all happy about them coming back.

Heeey everyone! I just watched the videos and photos from yesterday and today, and I’m honestly so emotional right now! Perfume looks absolutely perfect to fight for an Olympic spot, and I love all the changes in the RD! The new costumes make them look like fire!!

But…I have to admit, I also feel a lot of anxiety. I want to fully enjoy this, but I can’t stop worrying. What if things don’t go as hoped? What if politics… politics? What if the performance isn’t perfect?
It’s hard to just be happy and excited when your heart is so full of fear at the same time.

Does anyone else feel this way? How do you manage to enjoy these moments without getting too stressed?

Honestly I'm having to remind myself I have no control over this situation and they have clearly put in the work they need to do. But also I will probably eat through a pound of chocolate and watch through my fingers while shaking with nerves lol so idk.

We'll enjoy the ride, together.

I was listening to Peacock during their practice - and wound up sitting in a complete stop of traffic for an accident being moved over to the side of the freeway during Christina & Anthony's run-through so I got to see the first section before traffic started moving again. I couldn't pay close attention since I kept glancing up to see if the traffic was starting to move, so I'll have to re-watch, but what I saw looked improved. I love the new costumes - much better '90s vibe for both of them, IMO.

That Moulin Rouge esque lift is such a great opener for the RD - the changes and costuming make it feel like a new programme which I think was important here.

Makes me wonder though... why do they only seem to bring in Randi Strong when it needs a refresh - they maybe should try and get her consultation earlier in the process next time?

I won't be watching live but I really do wish them the very best - they have clearly worked incredibly hard - not just over the break but all quad.
