It just sucks that not only were KagNec and other ice dance/pairs victims of international politics but also the politics of their fed. Probably this has been discussed ad nauseam but seeing these beautiful programs raises the question up again. If the fed cared so much about international competition they would have proposed the pairs with the best chance of meeting the criteria.

I know that Petrova/Tikhonov's daughter is also an ice dancer, and she looks like a total 50/50 face morph of her parents so it was a lot more obvious than in Varvara's case.
