It doesn’t apply. Another poster confirmed he’s a hands off skating dad. She the type of gifted skater that when they find something they excel at, they become obsessed with. Her face lights up just before she gets on the ice. Look at her face just before the six minute warm up in Gdańsk. She...

I’m pretty sure she’s pushing herself. She’s the type you have to pull off the ice because she’s so eager. As for the second question, it’s obvious. She’s goes to college and gets a job. Kimmie got accepted into a PA program. Rachel is going to be a psychologist. All skaters eventually retire...

Wow. I’m dumb. I knew Alysa was still in Italy, i just didn’t realize it was because she was working with Carolina. I thought she was taking a well earned break. :slinkaway

This is a problem that been going on forever. So many skaters get away with no <, then when they compete internationally, they’re shocked to see so many calls. USFS would be good to invest in better callers at their qualifying competitions to stop this issue.

2020/21 Junior Grand Prix Dates & Locations (from ISU Communication 2289 - Decisions of the Council)

Budapest and Uzbekistan? I love it! There so many diverse locations next year. I’d gotten used to the pluarity being in Europe with only one exception, using the same rinks over and over. I hope Ted can interview Misha in Uzbekistan as well.

What happened was after injuring her ankle, it probably weakened the muscles around her ankle. With no support, sprains happen. It happens to the best of us. A few months of PT and she’ll be as good as new.

I don’t known. Now that the 3A have gone senior, plus Evgenia, Rika, Alina, and Elizaveta the field is really deep. She’s at TDF with Kaori who tends to improve quickly as the season moves on. Satako’s also improves a lot as the season goes on. It may take some luck to get on a podium this year...

    I did the rescore program on skatingscores.com to hey the base values. It’s an excellent tool. Here’s where I think the break down is. 4Lz-4S = 11.5 - 9.7 = +1.8 Subtract Lost bonus +3T= -.42 3Lz - 3Lo= 6.49 - 5.39 = -1.1 = -1.52 lost. So the total benefit is 1.8-1.52= .28

The BV between using a 4Lz and a 4S is 80.49 vs 80.21. It’s losing the second lutz that cost her. A full point off that, plus not being able to backloads the +3T. It’s virtually a tie. However, I think with would be good to her to be able to use the 4S. They said it looked bigger ans more...

    U.S. Ladies [#27]: A Time to Reboot

Alysa landed a 4S in practice in Poland. If she adds that, it will be better since she won’t have to give up one of her backloaded triple triple combos and can still do two 3Lz’s in the second half. Alysa loves to go to competitions for practice. She’s been in five in the last six weeks. I’m...

    U.S. Ladies [#27]: A Time to Reboot

Talent has to be nurtured. No one starts at the top. Four years ago, Korea couldn’t get on top of any podium. Three years ago, Eunsoo got a silver while all the rest struggled with inconsistency and low scores. Korea has created a system that polish their girls. Their challenged more often...

    U.S. Ladies [#27]: A Time to Reboot

The problem isn’t the skaters. They issued out JGP spots by looking at last years results at Novice, Junior and Senior nationals, post national international competitions, and this year’s summer competitions. Calista won Spring Egna Trophy with a score of 159. Gabbriella won at Senior level with...

    U.S. Ladies [#27]: A Time to Reboot

Audrey is nortorious for underrotations and downgrades that don’t get called domestically. I counted five underrotations in her FS. She’s going to get a far lower score internationally. I thought they would be taken care of when she was with Raf, but she didn’t improve. That was three years...
