I don't enjoy Coldplay tbh and I was one of the odd one not to be taken emotionally by their Fix you FD so this choice is not about to make me happy. However, they'll surely won't only use that one song and even the parts used could be altered. They might even use non Coldplay songs to mix it up for all we know. The only thing I take away from this is they're going towards a more upbeat even joyful program which I didn't expect. So I'm curious. I haven't been able to connect with their skating and interpretation up to now, I thought this year's FD would be it for me but they never managed to lift up the second supposedly more angsty half while the first half had excellent potential with it's meditative feel. Basically it's way to early to be disappointed and frankly most teams will choose a safer path using music they feel truly confortable with. They might view Coldplay as their lucky charm and at the Olys anything giving you that extra boost in confidence is important, so why not ? I remember people being very critical of their fix you at the very beginning of the season and then ....

However, when you factor in the fact that these songs can't be about romance it eliminates quite a few of them.

Exactly, and we can´t ignore the fact that the video has +700,000,000 views, is their second most viewed video. When I read someone who does not like their choice and write their suggestions I also look like  :shuffle:  :scream:.

Misha Ge is choreographing Sergei Voronov's programs, and Averbukh is doing Maxim Kovtun's.

This latest update from FSGossips confirms that Misha Ge is definitely doing Voronov's SP, but it sounds like the LP is still up in the air?: http://fs-gossips.com/inna-goncharenko-about-programs-of-her-students-for-2017-2018-season/

Also, Ashley Cain/Tim Le Duc announced their new programs in this Figure Skaters Online article:

SP: "I'll Take Care of You" sung by Beth Hart/Joe Bonamassa
LP: The Great Gatsby

Choreographers for both programs: Serge Onik, Cordero Zuckerman

I know Misha said he hasn't ultimately made up his mind about retiring, but on his Instagram he's all around the world doing choreo for other skaters. Will he have time to prepare himself for the new season, if he decides to continue?

Ge had a similarly busy schedule of choreographing for others last year.

ETA:

Nina Mozer said Italian choreographer Giuseppe Arena has done Zabiiako/Enbert's free skate and their SP was by Igor Tchiniaev again: http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/20170511/1120286411.html

Very interesting article regarding Cain / Le Duc, their story together and new improvements, things they engage themselves in (like new lifts that they plan to show next seaosn). I for once to my surprise also did not know also that they were called to ... Helsinki.

Samarin's LP is by Tchernyshev, the SP by Nikita Mikhailov (Buyanova does not reveal what it is, just tells it'll be a surprise)

Brooklee Han (AUS)
SP: I Dreamed A Dream (Susan Boyle)
LP: Por Una Cabeza (same as the one she did at Nats/4CC)

So both our top ladies will have SPs based on the "dreams" theme. Argh, tear out my heart, there you go.

I still remember when Nikita M was 14, skating at Russian Nationals, and I wondered if he were the next big thing....

Alex Krasnozhon

SP:
Krasnozhon will skate to the Russian folk song, “Korobushka” by the string-quartet Bond for his short program, which he will debut at the Broadmoor Open, June 21-24, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

FS:
This year, he will skate to “Nelle Tue Mani (Now We Are Free)” from Gladiator, performed by Andrea Bocelli, which he will debut at the Cannon Texas Open, July 6-9.

Krasnozhon will move up to the senior level nationally, but will remain competing as a junior internationally.

Castelli/Tran announced that their LP music will be a Shawn Phillips song "Waiting for Her Mother ..."

The name of the song is very long, so they're going to title the program itself "Woman." Choreographer is Julie Marcotte.

Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen also used this song for their 2015-16 free dance, but stuck with only calling it "Woman"! It's a good piece; I like that for Castelli/Tran.

I kept thinking Grant is bringing this program back - but apparently he hasn't done it before?!
