The Olympic medalists (who are also the GPF medalists) have all had such strong seasons. They're all very likely to medal again here, assuming they all go. But if anyone is tired out and falters, I'd love to see Isabeau climb back onto the podium.

The Women's event was so damn strong in Milan. It's hard to bet against Liu/Sakamoto/Nakai but if they don't all compete or if someone falters there are so many really good skaters. How cool would a medal for Petrokina be?!

I don't think she's publicly announced it but all the announcers & media in Milano have been hinting pretty strongly that the Olympics were Kaori's last competition. We'll see when the Worlds entries list come out later this week, but...

@AngieNikodinovLove (ANL) - in what will surely come as a massive shock to you, I think Amber's going to be on the podium along with Alysa & Ami.

Kaori confirmed.

From a 2/25/26 Olympics.com article on Kaori that I just posted in the Japanese news thread in GSD:
It remains to be seen whether Sakamoto will compete at the World Figure Skating Championships in late March in Prague, Czechia. “Honestly, I’m not sure,” she says.
"By the way, I've talked to enough skaters who have told me that they were very likely (or absolutely) not going to Worlds and they are currently still on the entries list ... so just be prepared folks" - Jackie Wong: https://x.com/rockerskating/status/2026840606228599086
