My parents called during the final flight & wanted me to talk to them while they drove home (long day, they were tired), so they ended up listening to me process Amber's skate as it was happening. After all her struggles I so wanted this for her, but it wasn't meant to be. I'd be very happy with the final 3 ending up on the podium in some order though.

Kaori should be behind Alysa. The PCS difference between them is criminal. As is Mone beating Alysa by .03 on PCS - but Mone's PCS has never made any sense to me.

Yeah, if 5 skaters have disasters, she'll be fine. If everyone skates relatively well, it could be a challenge.

As it turned out the triple-double combination did keep Safonova out of the free skate.

It’s going to be two Japanese on the podium Thursday, one of whom will be Kaori, and the other will be Alysa. That was my guess since Nats and I’m sticking to it.

But sigh for Isabeau and truly sad for Amber. I don’t think Petrosian was bad, but I’d have her behind the Belgians and Isabeau as well as Gubanova.
