One of the core ideals of the Olympics is that there is value in participation, and Maxim's skate here is an example of that. His victory was to make it to this Olympics under the most difficult of circumstances.

Given the media attention and probably his own emotions, I think that was a wonderful skate after the jumps. That camel
I'm so glad he got his Olympic moment and experience. The last 30 seconds was skated with such freedom. I love a happy skater. He and Matteo should have Happy Drink together. A lot of skaters make "I don't care about scores/it's about the experience" noises but I really, really, really believe that for Max.

And now, let's hear it for Jin, and skating's smallest fandom
