2026 Olys Team Event PBP Day 2 - Will It Be YAYmoz? Or GO!GO!lev?

Running for the metro but Chock and Bates were superb. Fast, in control, dynamic, in unison, skate close together and intuitively know where each other is. Beautiful shapes and highlight elements. Didn’t see any issues. They have a shot at winning the free dance in the individual if they skate like this.
I know you were there live, but unless they have massively improved since nationals, I don't see how they could have been fast like you are saying.

This program still feels like a men's program, doing nothing at the ends of the rink so they can go down the center.

She found them slow and their skating small.

Probably it’s true, but I still enjoyed that FD the most so far this season today.

Is she in the arena or commentating remotely? C&B were objectively the fastest — by a lot. Obviously even to a casual observer. The program slowed a tiny bit at the end if that’s when she made her comment?

What is the tie break?
Tie-breaking within team standings:

  1. The highest total team points from the two best places in different disciplines of the current phase will break the ties.
  2. If they remain tied, the highest total segment scores of the two best places according to the team points in different disciplines of the current phase will break the ties.
  3. If they remain tied, the highest total team points from the three best places in different disciplines of the current phase will break the ties.
  4. If they remain tied, the highest total segment scores of the three best places according to the team points in different disciplines of the current phase will break the ties.
If these criteria fail to break the ties, the teams will be considered as tied.

Different set of teams?

In terms of speed, I’d say C&B a clear first followed by Davis and Smolkin. Then Guignard and Fabbri during the open sections of their program (but not when in any hold or in or out of most elements). Then L&L who do skate quite small in this program.

She said they were very clearly the best, but she really didn't like the performance on the night.

She’s in the arena and a former ice dancer. Simon was talking about how they are closer to the ice than they normally are at an Olympics.
