In spite of the haters, I'm finding C/B's FD more and more engaging with each outing.

Reiterating the opinion that this is the best FD that Chock & Bates have had in at least three seasons. In addition to covering the ice well, as I mentioned after nationals; flamenco is one of those styles in which the choreographic step serves a real purpose. It's used to highlight the true character of the dance, which can't be fully done via normal step sequences.

Usual twizzle criticism that the judges just refuse to mark according to he criteria. It's funny, I thought the Curve/Curve lift looked better than earlier in the season, but judges didn't go nuts for it, but they went nuts for the rotational lift that had a sluggish transition out of it.

Not a fan of Chock holding the skirt in the choreo slide. It makes it look bunched up and sloppy. He was holding it before, but it left them prone to the skirt getting caught and falling.

That said, I like the program and a lot of the element placement and I’m actually surprised the audience doesn’t seem super into it.

Of the first 4 skaters, only Lajoie & Lagha scored a Season's Best score.

Chock & Bates managed to do that too but I found the red skirt with a mind of its own distracting.

I think she'll watch this video back and get rid of the skirt before the individual It's beautiful but so distracting from the actual dance. I don't feel that will beat the French even if they do have a decent lead from the RD.

They just showed an zoomed out video from I think the distance the judges would see it and it looks great even tangled. It just looks really bad zoomed in on the TV.

Running for the metro but Chock and Bates were superb. Fast, in control, dynamic, in unison, skate close together and intuitively know where each other is. Beautiful shapes and highlight elements. Didn’t see any issues. They have a shot at winning the free dance in the individual if they skate like this.

I'm not there, but on TV it looks like they are slow and cover zero ice. As usual.

Also, she this entire program is basically him running circles around her while she adjusts her skirt. I appreciate them a lot for their work, but they really have no business being gold medals favourites.

I so agree. Time to retire. I can't take anymore of them.

I don't hate the program but both of their costumes kind of suck. Madison was fighting that skirt most of the time and for what? A tiny cape flourish at the end? And Evan in an 80s-era jumpsuit with robot detailing just makes no sense.
